Jaw Acne Could Be A Sign Of PCOS
Jaw acne can be a nuisance but it may also have an underlying cause for women - polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS for short. PCOS is a common hormonal disorder among women. As the name suggests, it is a condition by which there are multiple cysts on the ovaries. The hormonal imbalance that causes this could occur when the body is producing more androgens (male hormones) than normal. Just like acne, PCOS symptoms are different for different women. Some may put on weight, other may suffer excess hair growth while others may experience both symptoms and more. The best way to test for PCOS is to visit your doctor or gynecologist. Don't stress out about the thought of having PCOS if you have jaw acne. PCOS is not life-threatening however, if left untreated, it could lead to further complication so it's best to get checked out if you suspect you could have this condition.
